Two of the most important recreation areas in south Evros are located in the villages Nipsa and Profiti ilia. Visitors can enjoy the shade of the perennial plane trees and the crystal clear water of the surging streams.

The area attracts visitors from the whole of south Evros.Especially on national holidays like Mayday and Ash Monday the place is flooded with people having picnics and barbeques. It also offers an educational programme about the environment to students in elementary and secondary education.

Within the location you can find a café, football field, playgrounds, wooden constructions, stone barbeques and so on. The picturesque chapel of Profitis Ilias is situated in the plane field.
