It was founded in 1980 and is in operation since 1983. The female monastic sisterhood has created a truly spiritual and social hubbub with the hard work of its members. The catholic, situated in the centre of the yard, is a Byzantine style church adorned with numerous frescoes on the inside representing scenes from the life of Jesus painted by the artist Zlatanis.

The Monastery is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and celebrates on the 23rd of August. The catholic and the big yard are surrounded by the convent’s buildings. The convent’s activities include icon painting, vestment sewing, embroidery, candle making, gardening and more.
